An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a certain site. Every single file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with three embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for every of the six files which were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, worldwide web browser and IP address. Sometimes you can also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The data that an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of a site, besides the web stats that your hosting server may have generated.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

Enabling the generation of access logs shall be exceptionally easy when you get a cloud hosting from us. The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, provided with all of the accounts, features a section on different logs and this is where you shall find the access logs as well. When you go there, you will see a list of all the domains hosted inside the account and the subdomains created for them. Our custom made cloud hosting platform shall start creating an access log for any of them when you click on the On button, that you will see on the right. If you no longer require logs, disabling the option is just as easy and can be done by clicking on the Off button in the same section. All of the logs are downloadable, so you can conveniently save and manage them on your PC or laptop.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you host your websites inside a semi-dedicated server account with us, you'll have the option to trigger or disable the generation of access logs with just several clicks inside your Hepsia hosting CP. You will find this function in the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access after you sign in. All it takes for our system to start producing logs is one click on the On button which you will see there. The function can be enabled individually for any Internet site regardless of whether it uses a domain or a subdomain and you'll find the full list of all the hosts within that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with just a click and you may then look at it manually or use some software on your computer. The log generation can be disabled by simply switching the On option to Off in the Logs section of your Control Panel.
